Final Lab Project (15% of Class Grade) Due 11/20 (Final Exam date)
The Final Lab Project consists of building and demonstrating a Timed Delay Relay product. The following educational objectives of this project consists of:
| An introduction to the transistor and its application of acting as an Electronic Switch. | |
| Illustrates practical use of RC Time Constants. | |
| Illustrates how a simple Timing Circuit can be built using 2 passive electronic components, a Resistor and Capacitor. | |
| Illustrates how a electromechanical relay can be used to control external "HIGH" current electrical loads. |
To understand the basic function of a Timed Delay Relay, read page 858 section titled "Time Delay Circuits". The pinout of a 2N3904 can be downloaded here. Review it prior to building the circuit for ease of laying out the breadboard. The circuit schematic diagram will be provided in class by 11/6 as well as additional product requirements.

To assist the student in this technology job investigation, research the ideal Electronics Technology Job using the ITT Virtual Library. Write would a one page report describing the idea job you would like to have after completing the 2 year CEET degree and the skillset requirements researched using the ITT Virtual Library. Also, go to Salary.com and do a search for an Electronics Technician 1 (Entry Level). Print the paid scale distribution. Bring to class on 10/16 the printed paid scale along with the one page report describing your ideal Electronics Tech job with skillset requirements. |
